Suppressor, SBRs/SBSs and Full Auto

An NFA Gun Trust is a trust designed specifically for the acquisition and ownership of NFA items. The National Firearms Act (NFA) has designated that suppressors, fully automatic firearms, short-barreled rifles and short-barreled shotguns must be registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Without a gun trust, in order to obtain a NFA item legally, the ATF has required fingerprint samples, photographs, and a signature from the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) in that area. By obtaining a gun trust, much of this bureaucratic hassle is avoided through transferring ownership of the NFA items and weapons from the individual, to the trust. Because the requirements to own NFA items are different when a trust is applying, rather than an individual, many of the difficulties gun owners face when applying are circumvented. A gun trust also expedites the process of passing on or transferring NFA items, once the owner passes on. Many gun trust options are available.
